CLICK HERE TO ENJOY THE COMFORTCOUNTRY SELF GUIDED DRIVING TOUR!
Destination ComfortCountry started as a marketing strategy based on four hub communities and five municipalities working together to promote themselves. These include the Municipality of Centre Hastings, Township of Madoc, Municipality of Marmora and Lake, Township of Tweed and the Township of Stirling-Rawdon. It has worked so well that the strategy has won a national award recognizing it as a successful model that deserves to be emulated. Madoc, Marmora, Stirling and Tweed understand that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts when it comes to concerns of a common nature. The volunteer ComfortCountry committee meets the third Wednesday of each month and is supported by the county economic development committee.
The country village communities located in ComfortCountry have that easy feeling of days gone by. It's hard to put your finger on exactly what gives you that special feeling you get when you really feel like you're at home. It has something to do with small town country charm, people that say hello on the street, quaint shops, smiling faces and the unrushed pace of lifestyles focused around traditional rural values. ComfortCountry is a place where residents are proud to call home. In ComfortCountry you have antique and knick-knack shops instead of crowded box stores and there are bed & breakfasts accommodations and country inns instead of high-rise hotels. If you really need an adventure you should explore the four. Slip back into time where a sense of community has a literal meaning. Come play and stay with us in ComfortCountry.
