The Municipality of Marmora and Lake is a lovely community with a population of 4,000. It’s located midway between Ottawa and Toronto along Highway 7. The village of Marmora is surrounded by water from Crowe River, Crowe Lake and Beaver Creek, and is a thriving municipality that strives to be a desirable place to work, live, vacation and retire.

The Municipality is currently accepting applications for two part-time positions for its Service Ontario location at 9 Matthew Street. The successful applicant will work under the direction of the Manager of Economic Development.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

  • Issuing and updating provincial driver’s licenses, health cards and Ontario photo ID cards.
  • Registering motor vehicles, renewing license plates, providing packages for sale of used vehicles, selling driver’s handbooks, administering temporary permits.
  • Handling cash, debit and credit transactions.
  • Working on a computer system and adhering to strict confidentiality regulations related to personal information.
  • Serving the public and acting in a polite and professional manner.
  • Exhibiting critical thinking skills and proficiency in written and oral communication.
  • Acting as frontline staff for the tourism centre as well as Service Ontario by directing calls and visitors to the centre to the appropriate staff member.
  • Working independently in a high-stress environment.

Candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications:

  • High School diploma. Additional post-secondary education an asset.
  • Knowledge of computer and telephone systems, debit, credit and cash processing.
  • Prior experience working in a ServiceOntario office is an asset.
